Addingham Scouts performed a pantomime, A Scouting Christmas Carol, in the new Scout headquarters in the village.
The sell-out panto was written by Scout leader Paul Jennings and was staged after only five weeks of rehearsals.
Mr Jennings said with the help of ticket sales the Scouts had raised just under £1,000 for the Royal British Legion and Shelterbox, the disaster relief charity.
He said: “The money for the British Legion was raised by going door to door selling poppies for three weeks, therefore giving up on their usual Scout meetings. This is something we have done for the last four years, following a call from the Legion who were struggling to do it.
“The money for Shelterbox was raised through a joint carol service with the Brownies and Guides at St Peter’s Church that raised £150 and the ticket sales and refreshments brought in the rest.”
