Users of the skate park in Skipton’s Aireville Park are being asked for their views on a major replacement project.

Craven District Council is looking at three potential designs for a new skate park, ranging from £50,000 to £100,000.

On Wednesday, February 5, it will hold a public meeting to find out what people think.

The designs may be adapted according to any suggestions and will be subject to raising funds.

Ward councillor Marcia Turner said: “It is important the council listens carefully to the advice of those who use the skate park so we build a new one that provides the best facilities for now and the future.”

Renewal of the skate park is a priority for the council and Friends of Aireville Park as part of a phased redevelopment of the whole park. The meeting will be at the council offices in Belle Vue Square, Broughton Road, at 6pm.

More information can be seen on the council website at cravendc.gov.uk/airevilleskatepark or ring 01756 700600.

It's good to hear that Craven District Council have money to spend on improving facilities. It makes a change from all the stories about cuts etc for the last few years. Hopefully they'll be able to finance improvements in other areas. Improving drainage on our footpaths and by-ways would be a good start.
