Craven community groups are being invited to bid for funding in a Dragons’ Den-style event.

Organisations can apply for up to £500 to help pay for projects which will benefit young people and improve the community. Successful applicants will then pitch their ideas to a panel of ‘Dragons’, at the Craven District Council offices in Skipton, on March 17.

The council is running the event following the success of a similar venture last year.

Coun John Roberts, who will be on the panel, said: “Anyone can apply to the Dragons, as long as the project idea is of benefit to young people.

“Last year some really excellent projects received funding for extremely innovative schemes which gave young people in Craven lots more activities to get involved in.”
