Bus cuts threaten group's walks in the Dales
9:00am Sunday 26th January 2014 in News
Craven Walkers held their first Dales walk of the year last Tuesday, when 18 people turned out.
Secretary Claire Nash said: “We had a wonderful walk in warm sunshine, led by Jenny Robinson.
“Most of us walked from Burnsall to Grassington, whilst a shorter-distance group went from Linton to Grassington. Unfortun-ately the bus cuts mean that this walk and many others will be impossible after March, so our Dales walks may have to be outside the Dales!”
Craven Walkers is a walking for health group that meets every Monday afternoon in Skipton. It also holds Dales walks twice a month and regular town trails exploring local towns and villages. Like its partners in South Craven and North Craven, it is aimed at anyone who needs gentle exercise and company to improve their health.
