Two West Craven businesses just missed out on being named Pendle’s Best Shop.
Almost 1,000 people voted in the Pendle’s Best Independent Shop 2013 awards launched by Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson.
Residents were able to nominate and vote for their favourite shop, in six Pendle towns, including Barnoldswick and Earby.
Decisions Decisions, on Newtown, was the top shop in Barnoldswick, and X Transmission bike shop, on Colne Road, was voted the best shop in Earby.
But Colne cafe and wine bar, Green Chimney, was the overall winner.
Mr Stephenson said: “Pendle has some great independent shops, with many new ones opening recently, whilst more established retailers also continue to grow. Pendle residents really do value our local town centres and high streets. The number of people who voted just proves that people will always respond to friendly customer service.”
