A day to promote health and stamp a fledgling enterprise hub on the map is to take place.
The i centre, in the rejuvenated former Ingleton Middle School, is to hold a Health Information Day on Wednesday, February 12, from 10am to 3pm.
Rosemary Hartley, who was at the forefront of the transformation of the building and is now chairman of the management group, said: “We have targeted large providers of health care to set up stands and interact with the public.
“The idea is to promote health and wellbeing and put the i centre in the mind of the public and health providers as available space for such health-related things.”
Activities will include healthy food demonstrations, taster exercise sessions, short massages and creative art sessions.
Information about local care services, gadgets and support to help people to stay living independently will also be on hand.
“The event will be friendly and informal and everyone is welcome to come along. All the activities will be free.”
