Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist died on Buckhaw Brow, Giggleswick.

The 32-year-old, from Lancaster, was travelling north on his black Kawasaki bike when he left the B6468 road near Settle Golf Club and collided with a post.

The accident happened at about 3.55pm on Sunday and the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for almost four hours to allow collision investigators to examine the scene and for recovery of the motorcycle. It re-opened at around 8.45pm.

Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the motorcycle travelling along the B6480 before the crash.
