An eight-mile sponsored walk along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal raised more than £1,000 for Manorlands.
The trek was made by staff from Steeton’s Currergate Nursing Home, which is run by Czajka Care Group.
The employees, along with two representatives from Airedale and Wharfedale Clinical Commissioning Group, walked from Silsden Bridge to Riddlesden. They will donate £1,200 of their sponsorship total to Manorlands, while the remaining £677 will be given to the nursing home residents’ fund, which is used to pay for activities including day trips, events and entertainment.
Czajka’s ancillary manager Zoe Hooper, who helped organise the walk, said: “We feel very proud to have raised so much money. The whole day was extremely rewarding.”
Andrew Wood, from Sue Ryder Manorlands, said: “We have a fantastic relationship with Czajka.
“This walk was just another example of how individuals can work together, giving up their free time to create a memorable event that raises much-needed funds for the hospice.”
