Grass cutting: Kettlewell Parish Council is seeking tenders for grass cutting. There are three areas needing attention – the village green and playing field in Kettlewell and the village green in Starbotton. Talent search: Even though Kettlewell’s Village Variety Show has been postponed until the autumn, organiser Cathy Wright would welcome any ideas.

Parish council: Buckden Parish Council will meet on Monday at 8pm in the village institute.

High note: Group carol singing around Buckden on Christmas Eve raised £200. The money will be split between Macmillan Cancer Support, the Alzheimer’s Society and Age UK.

First class delivery: Steph Roe has donated £165 to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance from her Christmas card delivery service.

History group: Peter Wood will talk about Threshfield Quarry when he addresses the local history group in Cracoe Village Hall on Tuesday at 7.30pm.

Christian Aid: The Upper Wharfedale Christian Aid group raised £6,297.93 during 2013. It included £932.83 from the Dickensian Saturday soup kitchen and carol singing at Tesco. For more information, contact Jane Way on 01756 761333.

Trees planted: Six trees have been planted in St Mary’s Churchyard, Kettlewell. They were provided at cost price by former resident Robert Whamond, who works for ATM, and two were paid for by Anne Staniforth.

Church boost: The Christmas card delivery service in Littondale, organised by Sarah Paul, raised almost £140 for St Oswald’s Church, Arncliffe. Carol singing at the Falcon Inn, Arncliffe, and the Queen’s, Litton, raised £75 for the Children’s Society.

Leprosy boxes: Leprosy boxes and phials are due for collection in February. They should be given to Muriel Raw, of 3 Conistone Road, Kettlewell.

Singers needed: Male and female singers of any age are being sought in Wharfedale. Due to recent successes and current expansion, Buckden Singers are seeking new members for their summer concert.
