Team GB Skier Emma Lonsdale has been given a helping hand by two Settle groups.
Settle Freemasons have given her £400 to purchase equipment before departing to compete in the halfpipe competition at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
Former Settle High School pupil Emma, 29, from Langcliffe, who is a member of Kendal Ski Club, received £300 from Castleberg Lodge and £100 from the Old Giggleswickian Lodge who both meet at the Masonic Hall in Settle.
The money will go towards new ski boots and a protective back guard among other things.
John Langley, the Worshipful Master of Castleberg Lodge, said: “It is good to support local athletes and we wish Emma the best of luck for the Olympics.”
Emma has also received a cheque for £250 from the Settle Stompers line dancing group.
