A burlesque singer from West Craven wowed millions on The Voice on Saturday night.

Jazz and blues songstress Kiki DeVille, from Earby, won over Will-i-am with her rendition of Stone Cold Sober by Paloma Faith on the BBC1 show.

But the American star left it to the last second of Kiki’s performance to turn his chair around and make her the ninth addition to Team Will.

Speaking after the performance during the blind audition stage, she said: “You know how to keep a girl waiting.”

And Will-i-am said: “The whole crowd was really rocking. This is going to be fun.”

Tweeting earlier this week in response to messages of support, Kiki said: “I am overwhelmed at all the messages and posts, I can’t keep up! Thank you everyone.”

And earlier she said: “So excited to be on Team Will.”

Saturday night’s show was the penultimate blind audition.

Of the 12 spots available in each of their teams judges Ricky Wilson of the Kaiser Chiefs, Sir Tom Jones and Will.i.am all have 10 acts while Kylie Minogue has 11.
