Grassington in Bloom is to improve the walled garden on the village’s Springfield Road.
The annual general meeting was told that an application for funds was to be made to the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority.
Diane Mackridge, who was re-elected chairman, thanked everyone for their contribution to village enhancement.
Treasurer Julia Metcalfe said that the Bloom group had spent liberally on bulbs, building work and composting arrangements, but the accounts were still “in the black”.
The meeting heard that the diseased sycamore tree in the cobbled square was to be removed and would be replaced by a sessile oak at a cost of £100 which would be met by Grassington in Bloom.
Open air stalls last summer had not been particularly profitable but the group would continue with the coffee morning, cream tea and Santa’s Grotto fundraisers.
Thanks were expressed to Philip Johnson, chairman of Grassington and District Horticultural Society, who had donated a bike for the the Tour de France display.
