Hellifield Primary pupils abandoned their comfortable beds for an annual sleepover at the school.
Youngsters from year two and upwards took part in the adventure which included bedtime stories.
In the lead-up to the event, children did cross-curricular work looking at families and being secure and comfortable in your own home.
Headteacher Sara Binns said: “This raises issues such as the plight of the homeless and current issues such as the problems of flooding in the south of England and how it affects people’s everyday lives.”
