Cononley Parish Council has objected to outline plans to build 15 new homes in the village.
Farmer John Teal is seeking permission to build a mix of 15 two-storey terraced and detached houses on a field at Meadow Lane.
The proposed development would be accessed by a newly adoptable cul-de-sac with a private driveway.
Although the parish council was generally supportive of building homes in that part of the village, they objected to this scheme, which is on land opposite the former Pear Tree Farm.
Coun Lois Brown, chairman of Cononley Parish Council, said: “The council felt the development would have too large an impact on a number of houses in the area.
“It also feels the access is insufficient and unsafe, and increased traffic would make it a dangerous place for children walking home from school and pedestrians accessing the train station.”
