The “stupid” smashing of a fire alarm in Skipton saw a 25-year-old on a suspended prison sentence sent back to Bradford Crown Court.
Martin Derby, of Church Street, Settle, smashed the alarm, setting it off, while visiting friends at Belle Vue Terrace, Broughton Road, on January 7, Skipton magistrates heard on Friday.
Derby, who admitted criminal damage estimated at £60, was recorded on the Foundation Housing property’s CCTV cameras and was recognised by police.
In mitigation, Stephen Banks said Derby had been drinking at the time and could remember little of the incident.
Derby will have his case reviewed on March 28 by Bradford Crown Court, where he received his suspended sentence last August.
