A 52-year-old Embsay man has been sent to crown court for allegedly stealing £7,645 from his elderly mother.

Robert William McDonough is jointly charged with his wife, Samantha Jane McDonough, 31, of stealing the money from Claire McDonough at Grassington between January 3 and May 8 last year.

The McDonoughs, of East Lane, appeared at Skipton Magistrates on Friday when they entered no pleas. Their cases were committed to Bradford Crown Court for a preliminary hearing next Friday, March 14.
