A pre-inquest review has been held into the death of a Silsden man.
Tony Hopkins, 58, died last October after falling while carrying out maintenance work at an Iceland store in Rotherham. He was working on an air-conditioning unit in a storage area of the supermarket when the incident occurred, on October 28.
Mr Hopkins was taken to Rotherham General Hospital, but died from his injuries.
Rotherham Borough Council’s environmental health department launched an investigation.
A spokeswoman for the coroner’s office said a hearing had taken place last Wednesday before Doncaster assistant coroner Raymond Curtis.
“The aim was to receive an update and discuss the current position – a full inquest is still to take place on a date to be arranged,” she said.
Following his death, tribute was paid to Mr Hopkins by fellow Silsden residents.
Paul Thompson, former landlord of the Robin Hood pub, said: “He was one of the nicest men you could meet.”
