Swimmers taking part in an annual challenge at Skipton’s Craven Pool raised just under £1,000 for charity.
Coun Chris Harbron, last year’s chairman of Craven District Council, has now handed over £475 to Parkinson’s UK and The Stroke Association, based at Airedale Hospital.
“I would like to thank last year’s participants for taking on the challenge in support of these causes that are very close to my heart,” said Coun Harbron.
This year’s chairman, Coun Donny Whaites, has chosen to support Airedale Hospital’s A&E department.
The challenge, featuring a range of different swimming lengths to suit all abilities, is due to run until the end of March.
Entry forms are still available from the swimming pool reception, on Gargrave Road.
