Pupils of Skipton piano teacher Sue Conti have been tickling the ivories for a good cause.

They have been taking part in a sponsored practice before this year’s Skipton Music Festival.

Mrs Conti is treasurer of the festival and all the money raised will go towards safeguarding its future.

Secretary Jill Wright said: “The sponsored practice has the dual benefit of encouraging the kids to practise and raises money for the festival.”

This year’s celebration of music and drama will start on Monday and run until Saturday, with most classes in Skipton Town Hall.

Ongoing work at the hall means junior choir classes on Friday afternoon will be moved to Christ Church and the adult choirs on Saturday afternoon will be heard in Holy Trinity Church. The final night concert will be ticket only.
