How Skipton Town Hall could look

A proposed new entrance to Skipton Town Hall has been unveiled by Craven District Council.

Drawings for the new entrance and public toilets, which will replace the existing toilet block in Jerry Croft, will go on show next Thursday, March 20, at the council offices, Belle Vue Square.

Designed by Skipton-based architects Bowman Riley, the scheme forms part of the second phase of the major redevelopment of the town hall. If approved by the council planning committee, the 1960s-built toilets will be demolished and replaced with the new entrance, incorporating new toilets and disabled access, with a lift to the first floor.

It is hoped that a planning application will be submitted by the end of the month.

Coun Simon Myers, lead member for the project, said: “I am really thrilled that we are able to begin this phase in conserving and redeveloping the town hall and its facilities.

“We are working to a schedule and a budget agreed by councillors and I am confident that soon the people of Craven will see some real improvements to this building.”

The exhibition of the plans will be open from 7pm to 9pm.

Representatives from the council and Bowman Riley will be on hand to answer questions.

Skipton Ratepayer says...

Ghastly, and no steps up to it? If that's Jerry Croft, the artist has just about doubled its width. Heaven knows what it would really look like.
CDC strikes again.
