A group of enterprising Skipton Girls’ High School pupils are promoting the delights of Yorkshire.

The girls – all AS level students – have launched their own business, We Are Yorkshire, as part of the Young Enterprise scheme.

Team member Imogen Deville said: “We have opted to create a brand with a logo, which we can expand into numerous product ranges, rather than buying and selling other products.

“Our brand encompasses everything that is great about our county.

“For our first collective range we will focus on three main areas of products – stationery, tourism items and planners/diaries.

“Each of the products will have a Yorkshire saying printed on the side or our brand image.

“For example, on the planners there are the words We are reet organised.” The team is hoping to hold several events throughout the year, ranging from a pick ‘n’ mix sweet store to girls’ nights out.

“The team promises to try to create something inventive, innovative and imaginative,” added Imogen.
