It was full steam ahead at the Ingleborough District Model Rail Fair held at Settle Primary School on Saturday.

The event was organised by Dave Burrows and exhibitors and dealers from across the North West provided the steady stream of visitors with plenty to see, while Settle Scouts were kept busy selling tombola and raffle rickets.

The winning layout was built by Norman Dray, the former district chairman.

Throughout the day, District Cub Scout Leader Mary Anne Burrows brewed up and served a variety of cakes donated by local Scouting supporters.

And Tom Lothian, who will be representing the district at the World Scout Jamboree in Japan next year, kept younger visitors amused with a challenge to transfer sweets from one bowl to another with chopsticks!

By the end of the day, £327 had been raised for Scout funds, with a further £130 from the refreshments being donated to 1st Castleberg (Settle) Scout Group.
