Youngsters from three North Craven schools stepped back in time to the Victoria era.
About 70 key stage two pupils from the Confederation of Horton-in-Ribblesdale, Austwick and Clapham Primary Schools enjoyed a trip to Bradford Industrial Museum.
Before going, the youngsters learnt poems to recite and songs to sing.
“Some were terrified by the Victorian classroom experience,” said confederation headteacher Gill Woods. “They looked at Victorian lives and were extremely grateful for the conditions they had today.
“They had a whale of a time, though.”
Keeping with the Victorian theme, Horton pupils are working with the Friends of the Settle-Carlisle Line on a musical performance celebrating the line which was built in the 1870s and saved from closure 25 years ago.
The concert will be staged in the Richard Whiteley Theatre, Giggleswick, on Wednesday, April 30.
