Past and present pupils of Bradleys Both Primary celebrated the school’s centenary on Friday.

Malcolm Mattocks and Margaret Lancaster, both 94, who attended in the 1920s, celebrated with afternoon tea with other former students and current pupils at the school in Skipton Road.

It marked the 100th anniversary of the school opening on March 21, 1914.

“Everyone was catching up on old times,” said teacher Jane Hall. “The students entertained our guests by playing their instruments in a concert and tea, coffee and cakes were served by the Year 6 children.”

Mr Mattocks and Mrs Lancaster, who live in Bradley, also had their picture taken with the school’s two youngest pupils, Holly Hampshire and James Bergin, both four.

The school will celebrate the centenary by holding other events later this year.
