Cotswold Outdoor is due to become the second business to open in Skipton’s £8.5 million Albion Place today.

The outdoor clothing and equipment shop will be opened today. It follows Pizza Express in the High Street complex which opened last Thursday.

The remaining businesses in the development, Chevin Cycles, Dawsons Department Stores, Next and Pavers Shoes, are all due to open in time for Easter. Plans have also been submitted for a coffee shop, rumoured to be Starbucks, in the last remaining empty unit fronting onto Jerry Croft.

The opening of Cotswold Outdoor was to have been carried out by Skipton Mayor, John Kerwin-Davey. His place will now be filled by another councillor following his resignation last month.

The first 100 customers after the midday opening who spend £50 will also receive a goody bag of products worth more than £100.
