A woman suffered broken fingers when the door of her broken down car was hit by a passing vehicle.
The 26-year-old woman from Cumbria was travelling along the A65 towards Kirkby Lonsdale at 7.50am on Thursday when her black Toyota MR2 broke down in a gateway near Owlett Hall Farm, Austwick.
As she went to open her door, another vehicle collided with it, but failed to stop.
Now police want to speak to the driver of the vehicle, along with witnesses and any motorists who were travelling on the A65 between Long Preston and Kirkby Lonsdale at the time.
Anyone who can help should contact Traffic Constable Andrew Ingram on 101, quoting incident number 12140056303.
