A record number of exhibits was on display at Grassington District Horticultural Society’s spring show on Saturday.

There were 441 entries, which included a large number of auriculas and 15 bicycle collages made by pupils from Threshfield Primary School.

Mel Wynn won the Cunningham Trophy for most points in the show – which was staged in Grassington Town Hall – as well as the Bloomfield Cup for the most points in the flower section.

Other trophy winners were: Society Rosebowl (most points in flower arranging) - Vivienne Burfitt; Society Cup (most points in baking) - Carole Smith; Joan Bielby Salver (most points in preserves) - Philip Johnson’ Society Tankard (best flower) - Judy Booth; Twin Locks Garden Centre Trophy (best pot plant) - Michael Stott; Society Vase (best floral arrangement) - Margaret Lockyer.
