Pupils at a Silsden school brought a classic children’s picture book to the stage.

Year 5 pupils at Hothfield School presented Where the Wild Things Are for the Easter holidays.

There were three separate performances for fellow schoolchildren, grandparents and parents.

The youngsters told how young boy Max is sent to his bedroom after causing chaos in his house while dressed in a wolf costume.

Max’s bedroom magically becomes a jungle and he ends up becoming king of the island-dwelling Wild Things.

Where the Wild Things Are was written in 1963 by American author and illustrator Maurice Sendak.

It has since been turned into a cartoon film, an opera and most recently a live-action feature film. The book has sold more than 19 million copies across the world.
