Would-be hot air balloon pilots were put through their paces at Thornton-in-Craven over Easter.
The Lancashire-based North West Balloon and Airship Club and Yorkshire’s Pennine Region Balloon Association joined forces to hold a joint training weekend at Thornton Hall Farm Park.
“It was a combination of classroom sessions and balloon flights,” said Tom Bulloch from the North West Club.
About a dozen balloons took to the skies on Friday morning, Friday evening and Saturday morning.
“The conditions were just about perfect,” said Mr Bulloch. “It is the third time we have run the event at Thornton Hall and we hope to return again next year.”
