Shoppers in Skipton were treated to the unusual sight of a couple of donkeys inside Craven Court.
The donkeys, corralled in a comfortable pen, were in town to promote The Donkey Sanctuary charity. The charity, which has a branch in Leeds, was founded in 1969 by Dr Elisabeth Svendsen, who devoted her life to championing donkeys.
As well as rescuing donkeys, the charity runs assisted therapy centres and projects both at home and abroad.
