An Eastburn girl is having her hair cut off to create a wig for another girl fighting cancer.

Twelve-year-old Laura Cook will lose her locks this Saturday to help the Little Princess Trust.

The charity makes real-hair wigs for girls and boys across the UK who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.

Laura is also being sponsored in the hope of raising money to make more of the wigs, which cost £350 each. Laura’s mother, Helen, said her daughter wanted to help after learning about the work of various charities at school, and watching Children in Need.

Laura, who attends Skipton Girls High School, will have her hair cut at the Beau Salon in Steeton.
