The Aire Valley Rail Users Group (AVRUG) is holding its AGM on Saturday in Saltaire Methodist Church at 2pm. Anyone who has an interest in local rail services is welcome to attend.
There will then be an open forum to discuss the future of local rail services. Consultations are about to start about the future of the next Northern franchise. This is a vital time to influence plans as government struggles to balance the demands for investment and cost-saving.
Issues in Airedale include managing an ever-increasing demand for rail travel and investment is needed to support the growth of the local economy.
