’s annual parish meeting will highlight the local impact of the Tour de France on the two villages.
The meeting, which takes place in the village hall on Tuesday, from 7pm, is intended to provide local electors with a forum to raise matters of concern and ask questions.
But, this year, as well as the open forum, Craven District Council’s Tour de France project support officer Fiona Protheroe, will present a general introductory talk on the Tour de France.
This will be followed by a presentation from a parish councillor which will highlight the direct, local impact of the event on the two villages during the weekend of the Grand Depart – July 5 and 6.
“There are many issues which the parish council is currently addressing that are clearly of interest to our residents, including the local impact of the Tour de France,” said council chairman Coun Gillian Quinn.
“We hope that residents will use this year’s annual parish meeting to put forward this and any other issues or concerns they may have about their villages and the parish council.”
The meeting will conclude with French-themed refreshments – wine and cheese.
