Skipton’s Christ Church Primary School has gained national recognition for high-quality learning in
religious education.
It has just been awarded the gold award in the national RE Quality Mark scheme, which recognises high-quality learning in religious education.
Subject leader Mary Burton said: “This was a rigorous process which helped us to think about what we are doing well in RE. Assessors visited the school to consider a range of evidence and talked to the pupils about their experiences in RE.
“They were really impressed with the quality of the pupils’ responses and their engagement with a range of ‘big’ questions. It’s a great achievement for everyone.”
The school is only the second in North Yorkshire to gain the gold award.
