Organisers of a flower festival at Holy Trinity Church, Cowling, are hoping the event will raise the roof.

It has been organised to raise money to fund urgent repairs to the roof following several lead thefts over the past few years.

Running over the Bank Holiday, the festival - which has a village life theme - will start tomorrow with a preview evening which will be opened by retired paediatric consultant Dr Kenneth Wilkinson who worked at Airedale Hospital for many years.

It can then be viewed throughout the day on Saturday, culminating with a concert by Cobbydale Singers at 7pm.

On Sunday, the festival will be open from 11.30am to 4pm while Monday's viewing will start with a service of thanksgiving at 9.30am and end with an auction flowers, led by Norman Binns, at 4pm.
