Police are investigating two possible sightings of missing man Trevor Whitehead in Skipton.

Trevor Whitehead, 51, a customer adviser at the Barnoldswick branch of the Skipton Building Society, was reported missing after he failed to turn up at work.

He was last seen in his home town of Accrington on the evening of Wednesday, April 9, and police have grown increasingly concerned for his welfare.

Two recent possible sightings of Mr Whitehead near to Skipton Railway Station have been reported by members of the public.

Sgt Andy Horne said: “We remain positive that the recent sightings reported to us could have been Trevor, however, we can’t be 100 per cent certain it was him so the search to find him is still ongoing.

“I would appeal to Trevor direct and say if he is reading this appeal, please get in contact with us and let us know you are okay. You are not in any trouble, we are just extremely concerned for your welfare.”

Mr Whitehead is a nature enthusiast, who spends his spare time walking in East Lancashire and beyond. He is a former wildlife photographer and is also known to be a botanist and birdwatcher.

Mr Whitehead is described as white, around 5ft 7ins tall, of medium build, with a fair complexion and short grey hair.
