WORK is complete on a new £3 million health centre in Silsden.
The state-of-the-art facility has been built on the site of the old premises in Elliott Street.
The new-look Silsden Group Practice will house nine GPs and four nurses.
There are consulting and treatment rooms, a minor operations suite and podiatry unit, a “hub” for district nurses and health visitors and a Lloyds Pharmacy.
Behind the scheme is healthcare property developer and investor Assura Group, in partnership with Ashley House.
Assura development manager Amanda Roddy said: “The integration of primary care resources provides convenient and effective care to communities across the UK.
“The completion of the new Silsden Health Centre means that the practice can now extend the highest quality of facilities and streamlined services to the surrounding area.”
Practice manager Jeremy Pullan said he was delighted to see the vision reach its final phase of completion.
“Assura Group and Ashley House have created a modern facility which will cater for a broad scope of requirements and will have an invaluable impact on delivery of care in the community,” he added.
Jonathan Holmes, chief executive of Ashley House, added: “We are delighted that years of intense partnership working has led to such a super facility for Silsden.”
The 16,000 sq ft centre is expected to be officially opened in the next couple of months.
During the construction work, the practice has been operating from temporary accommodation in the car park of the former premises.
Ashley House said the community had already benefited from the scheme – firefighters based next to the site had used the old surgery building for training exercises prior to demolition and Hothfield Junior School had rented out unused playing field space to Wildgoose Construction, which has been carrying out the work.
