Thirteen-year-old Victoria Johnson will take centre stage at Horton-in-Ribblesdale Gala next week. The teenager, who lives in the village and enjoys netball, rugby and dancing, has been chosen as this year’s gala queen.
Her senior attendants will be Katie Gudgeon, 11, and Emily Palmer, ten, while the younger attendants are eight-year-olds Charlotte Wilson and Annabelle Horsfall, Isabella Mezzanott and Elexis Cross, both five, and ten-year-old Edward Dickinson.
The gala will be held on Saturday, June 7 and as well as the queen’s procession through the village, at 1pm, there will be a fancy dress competition on the playing fields.
The South Steel band will play throughout the afternoon and refreshments will be available.
Other attractions will include Zorbing, archery, penalty shoot out, bouncy castle, cake stall and tombola.
There will also be the annual fell race.
