CHILDREN in Silsden are illustrating the need for dog owners to clear up after their pets.

Posters designed by pupils of the town’s Aire View Infant School have been placed on litter bins.

The first bin has been installed in Elliott Street, outside the school, which is one of Silsden’s dog dirt hotspots.

The bins have been funded by district councillor Adrian Naylor from his Bradford Council budget for committee projects.

Silsden Town Council organised the poster competition.

Coun Naylor said: “I’ve put these bins in areas where people have identified excessive dog poo.

“There’s been a lot of talk about getting people to pick up their dogs’ mess, and now this is supplemented by somewhere for them to put it.”
