A 65-YEAR-OLD woman fell while descending Ingleborough on Friday afternoon
She was heading towards Chapel-le-Dale when she slipped and sustained a shoulder and upper arm injury.
She was found by some passing walkers, who called out the Clapham-based Cave Rescue Organisation.
Following treatment at the scene, the injured woman was stretchered down to a team vehicle near Braithwaite Wife Hole and transported off the hill for transfer to a road ambulance near the Hill Inn.
A CRO spokesman said: "This incident was the first this season to take place on a very hot day, meaning it was important for the team to be supplied with enough water, as well as assisting the casualty off the hill."
And he added: "Walking the hills on such idyllic days, especially when descending and the hard work of the ascent is over, can take one's concentration away from the potential dangers.
"A trip while descending steep, rocky ground can result in a significant injury."
