Craven College students hold end of year show

CRAVEN College’s School of Creative Industries is preparing for its end of year show.

Entitled I’ll Show You Mine, it represents the creative culmination, hard work and vision of students over the past year.

Many will be going straight into employment or progressing onto degree courses, both at Craven College and many leading universities across the UK.

The show will open with a preview evening at the Aireville Campus in Skipton on Tuesday.

Performing arts students will stage an extract from Guys and Dolls, creative media students will present an Art Car installation, journalism students will launch their Magazine,the media department will stage a mini film festival and theatrical media and make-up students will present a unique visual feast of themed characters, inspired by the Circus of the Bizarre.

Special guest will be Adam McClean, a journalist and broadcaster living in Manchester. He currently works on regional news programme Granada Reports and was named ITV News Best Newcomer and O2 Digital Journalist of the Year.

Head of school Theresa Savage said: “The show highlights the diversity of art work created by our talented students from across the school. The quality of work at all levels is inspiring.

“I am always so proud of our students and the work they achieve. As well as acquiring a wide specialist skill base, our students learn to work collaboratively with each other, skillfully guided by both new and established teaching staff. It is their continued professionalism and dedication which is so vital in setting an example to those who aspire to take up careers in the creative industries.”

The show can be viewed from 9.30am to 4pm Wednesday to Friday and from 10am to 2pm next Saturday.
