SUPPORTERS of a new skatepark for Skipton's Aireville Park got their cars cleaned and help raise £150 at the same time.
Organised by Skipton Youth Council, the car wash outside Skipton Fire Station, Broughton Road, also raised £53 for the Firefighters charity.
The group has set itself a target of raising £25,000 towards the £100,000 needed to build a new skatepark. It has already been promised £25,000 from Craven District Council and hopes to receive £50,000 from Sport England.
Its next fundraising event is due to take place on Sunday, June 29 when youth council members will be packing bags at Skipton's Tesco store.
