A GROUP from Townhead Surgery, Settle, visited the town 's college to find out the views of young patients.

It follows the latest patients survey carried out by the practice.

Students said alcohol and sexual health advice was already available but accurate and reliable information would be useful on issues such as drugs advice, mental health services such as self harming and bereavement support.

They also asked for a easier access to web pages provided by the surgery

Practice manager Antony Radley said: "It has been incredibly worthwhile visiting the college to ask the students what they really need from the practice. We have learned a tremendous amount which will help us to tailor services to meet the needs of our young patients in future."

Gill Walker, year 11 pastoral officer and careers co-ordinator at the college, added: " It was a great opportunity for our students to be consulted on issues which they feel impact on young people, both locally and nationally. I hope their ideas have helped the team at Settle Surgery to deliver an essential local service."
