A Tour de France theme is set to highlight this Saturday's (June 21) Cononley Gala.

Jayne Savoury and Neil Savoury, wife and brother former New Inn pub landlord Ian Savoury who died last year, will be guests of honour. They will judge the fancy dress and best dressed wheels competitions before the procession departs around the village at 1.15pm.

The gala queen, Ysabel Akroyd, and her three attendants, Sebastienna Bairstow, Anya Dickinson and Eloise Carter, all pupils at Cononley Primary School, will be crowned during the afternoon.

There will be crazy bicycle attractions, entertainment and sporting events in the central arena, and stalls and refreshments in the event field.

The Blades are back by popular demand, as they will once again delight crowds with a breathtaking display of aerial acrobatics.

Entry to the gala is free, however £1 raffle tickets will be available at the front desk.

To round off the day, a gala evening extravaganza, which includes and disco and hog roast, will start at 7.30pm in the marquee. Live music will be provided by Rhythm Junkies. Tickets costing £10 are available from Cononley Post Office.
