IT is no wonder these youngsters are doing pirouettes – they have all passed their modern and tap exams with distinction.

They are pupils at Skipton’s Northern Dance Centre and were taught by former centre head girl Stephanie Haighton, who started dancing at the age of two.

“She is a role model and mentor for countless students,” said centre principal Amy Addison. “She attended Skipton Girls’ High School and is now in full-time training at CentrePointe dance college in Denton, Manchester.

“She comes home every weekend and teaches for me on a Saturday morning. I encouraged her to enter some of her little ones for modern and tap exams and every single one of her candidates got distinction!

“It is amazing for her children to have done so well and is so well-deserved for Steph who works so hard.”
