TOUR de France fans have a perfect chance to get superb souvenirs in the run-up to the biggest sporting day in Skipton's history - right in the town centre.

For your Craven Herald has opened a pop-up Tour shop in the store under our High Street office, just yards from where the world's top cyclists will ride through on Stage One of the race on Saturday, July 5.

And the shop is geared up to give every Grand Depart fan just what they need to bring back life-long memories of what promises to be a glorious day.

As well as the Craven Herald and other local newspapers, visitors will be able to get hold of a copy of our Living Yorkshire Cycling magazine, a souvenir guide to the Tour de France through Yorkshire and a choice of souvenirs, including our Yorkshire Landscapes book containing stunning photographs of the county.

Prints from the scenic photographic collection of award-winning Craven Herald photographer Stephen Garnett will also be available. Local retailers are also showcasing their wares, including local chutneys from Relish Greengrocers; scarves and bags from Billy and Berties, merchandise from Skipton Castle, and cards with local watercolour cycling scenes by local artist Shirley Schofield .

Also on sale is the Grand Depart CD single by Brighouse singer-songwriter Roger Davies, the proceeds of which will boost the Crocus Cancer Appeal of our sister paper the Telegraph and Argus.

The shop front has been given a Tour makeover with a Yorkshire landscape on the window by French artist Jenny Tribillon, with the help of Andre Mear of Skipton BID, while the shop's sales assistant Robyn Davies has transformed two mannequins into yellow jersey and King of the Mountains polka dot jersey riders.

The shop is open every day 9.30am-5.30pm, but is closed for lunch 1.30-2.30pm.
