How does a National League 1 Club keep running?
Wharfedale are due a nineteenth season in National Division 1. This level had been maintained with a lot of effort by the management and the players. But to put on matches at that level also requires a massive amount of work from a willing band of volunteers. These are the hard working people that are the back bone of any rugby club and because of Wharfedale’s position they need plenty. There are jobs of all sorts requiring different levels of skill, often the skill needed is time and effort which everybody can give. The committee are very thankful for all the folk that have worked over the years to keep things going. More are needed next season to fill in some gaps being created by retirement. There is a variety of jobs including helping with the raffle, helping with car parking and manning the gate. Perhaps most pressing for next season is to find a volunteer or group of volunteers to clean and tidy the changing rooms on Saturdays when there has been rugby at the Avenue. There is no need to commit to a job for life; offering to help once a month or once a season would be a start. If you can help in any way please contact either Chris Baker on 01756 752502 or Ed Williams on 07793408910. All offers welcome.
