On Saturday 31 May Gargrave Parish Council welcomed children, visitors and parishioners to an open afternoon at the village playground. Particularly welcome was Angela Pease from Yorventure without whose continued financial support the playground would struggle to replace and upgrade the equipment.

We also acknowledge the volunteers, young and old, who put out the bins for emptying and keep a watchful eye on the mechanical and structural elements, ass GG Fabrications do. They help to spread chippings and pick up litter. Gargrave Auto Service have provided old tyres to form a safety buffer.

Without all these contributions the area where tots to teens can meet, interact, exercise and develop life skills for the future would not exist.

On the day a special thank you went to the members and organisers of Grassington Juniors football club who provided refreshments as a mark of appreciation to Gargrave for the use of the football pitch on Low Green. Gargrave wishes them continued success.
