Councillor Brian Hugill was re-elected Chairman of Hellifield Parish Council at the annual meeting last month.

He has been an active member of the council for 11 years and this is his third term as Chairman. In his annual report Councillor Hugill stressed how the Parish Council had lobbied hard to get improvements to the state of the A65 through Hellifield and would continue to do so. The recent demise of the bus service from Skipton to Giggleswick is also high on the Parish Council’s agenda and it will continue to lobby NYCC to save the service which is a lifeline for many Hellifield residents.

Councillor Hugill said “Having lived in the parish all my life it is a privilege to be the Chairman and with my team of councillors I intend to serve our parishioners and community to the best of our ability”

Councillor David Statt was re-elected vice-Chairman.
