One of the biggest sporting events in the world is not going to put the brake on a traditional village festival.
Ingleton Home Guard Platoon is marching ahead with its Operation Home Guard 1940s weekend at the same time as the Tour de France sweeps through Craven.
"This is our ninth year and it has become a tradition. It always happens over the first full weekend in July," said organiser Elaine Ward,
"People have already booked bed and breakfast and we have booked acts including Mike Brown Swing band for Saturday night in the community centre.
"And there are plenty of people who will come here who have no interest in the Tour de France."
It will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday , July 4.5 and 6 and includes the closing of Main Street between 11am and 4pm on Saturday and Sunday to accommodate the entertainment.
There will be military parades, re-enactments, a cenotaph parade, entertainment in the Square and the Anne Frank exhibition will arrive from York
